TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TransCore’s Canadian Freight Index saw load volumes for April 2011 register a 15 percent increase year-over-year, surpassing the previous record set in April 2008; however, load postings were down 12 percent from last month’s all-time high.
Equipment postings were at the lowest recorded level since 2005, descending even further than the previous reduction set during the short month of February 2011. Available capacity was also down almost 20 percent from April 2010.
While capacity and loads both decreased from the prior month, surprisingly the ratio of available equipment to loads remained at the exact same level on a month-to-month basis.
